HOLT Truck Centers has partnered with Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology (OSUIT) to deliver hands-on, career-ready training for students in the Truck Technician program. Through the donation of two fully equipped semitrucks—a 2018 International LT625 and a 2017 International ProStar Plus—HOLT is helping students gain real-world experience with the technology they’ll encounter in the field.
Both trucks feature 450 HP Cummins engines and a 6-by-4 configuration, a commercial transportation standard. The 2018 LT625 includes a Cummins X15 Efficiency Series engine, disc brakes, and dual drive axles. The 2017 ProStar Plus offers a Cummins ISX engine, mixed disc and drum brakes, and advanced diagnostic tools—ideal for teaching both fundamentals and complex troubleshooting.
“We are incredibly grateful to HOLT for their generous donation,” said Sherri Johnson, dean of OSUIT’s School of Transportation and Heavy Equipment. “This contribution provides our students with invaluable hands-on training and helps ensure they’re ready to meet industry needs.”
HOLT Truck Centers is proud to support technical education programs that help close the skills gap in the diesel technician workforce.
“OSUIT continues to produce the kind of skilled technicians our industry needs,” said Robert Fulgium, Senior Vice President at HOLT Truck Centers. “We’re proud to partner with a program that aligns with our values and commitment to excellence.”
These trucks will serve as mobile learning labs, giving students practical training that bridges classroom learning with on-the-job experience—empowering the next generation of diesel professionals.
